We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Ralph "Doc Roc" Anttonen.
"I first heard Doc Roc when I was 16, listening to WIXQ radio. He had a voice and personality you couldn’t forget. A few months ago I saw his "docmobile" parked at my gym so I went right to the pool, where he swam everyday, to ask him if we could feature him on the Machines in Between project. He said yes, and the rest is history! The day we recorded he wanted to look around the entire Winter Visual Arts Center Building at F&M, where we've been recording the audio series. I could tell he enjoyed the recording process, and as he left the studio he stopped and looked around like he was taking in the whole experience giving himself a moment to let it all sink in.
